Grand Illinois Trail
The Grand Illinois Trail runs through many counties of northern Illinois, stretching from Lake Michigan in Chicago east to Galena, south to Moline and back to Chicago. Many attractions, accommodations and other facilities are found along the road. Bikers should be aware that the surface changes throughout the path, from pavement to gravel, and mountain bikes are recommended for several parts of the trail. Access: Many of the access points to the Grand Illinois Trail are made of local trails in the cities along the trail route. |

Ralph B. Birks Bicycle Trail
The Ralph B. Birks Bicycle Train is Moline's section of the Great River Trail. The trail is a 2.2 asphalt path along Rock Island (1st to 26th Streets) and the Ben Butterworth Memorial Parkway (26th to 55th Street). Running along the Mississippi River, this bicycle trail provides aesthetic sightseeing and wildlife opportunities as well as picnic areas. Access: Along the Mississippi River from 1st-55th streets. |
